Week 79 - Believe, Love, Do
Hey everyone!
It has been a good time out here full of great experiences. This week
was Elder Greer's birthday which was awesome! He hit the big 2-0! Shout-out to him because he is legit. In the morning, Elder Gomez and
Elder Collins came over with waffle mix and all the other goods to have a
nice brunch to celebrate and it was fun.
We have
been struggling to find positive investigators in these past few weeks.
We find A LOT of people and we do what we can to talk in the streets,
serve others, work with partial families, and ask references from the
members. But we are having a difficult time finding people that are
willing to repent and come unto Christ and actually live the gospel .
With some of the people we teach, they have a challenge understanding
and grasping the ideas of the restored gospel. With others, they already
have "their church" and don't want anything else. And there are those
that truly have no desire to accept the gospel and receive the blessings
that come from it.
I believe all that is
happening now is a test of faith from the Lord to see if we are going to
continue diligent in the work and give our best effort. There are a lot
of people that are willing to listen to us, but there are few who put
it in practice and commit to live it. We are looking for those who are
have been prepared by the Lord to accept and live the gospel. It brings
us the happiness we need. Elder Uchtdorf said, "Of course, we must do
more than merely have an intellectual understanding of the gospel for it
to have this healing influence in our lives. We must incorporate it
into our lives -- make it a part of who we are and what we do. May I
suggest that discipleship begins with three simple words: Believe, love,
and do."
That's really what it is all about. Gotta keep going! Perseveremos! Have a wonderful week everyone. Nos vemos!
Love, Elder Johnson
