Week 13 - Trabajando con todo!

First of all, late Monday night we got a call and it turns out that my companion got transferred to somewhere in San Salvador. I have a new trainer! His name is Elder Ortega, and he is from Nicaragua. He is super cool, and we get along really really well. We are already like good buds which makes the missionary work ten times easier. But because he is new to my area, I have had a lot more responsibility as far as planning, and just directing him and all that. It has been a good experience though. I am also noticing progress in the language every week, which is fantastic.

This week was pretty good. Nothing super crazy or awesome, but the power went out in the entire city the other night. No water, no fan, no light. But thanks to my family, I have the best equipment in the game, and my headlamp and flashlight did just fine. But nothing I had could fix the humid, hot air of El Salvador at 11 at night. I was sweating a ton and couldn't fall asleep. Luckily around midnight the power came back on and I could rest comfortably.

In our area, our biggest weakness has been church attendance. But Elder Ortega is really really good with talking to people and just being super happy. Its something I would like to learn from him. We both really want to baptize and get work done over here in Jiquilisco. We had 4 new investigators attend church this week and we are going to put baptismal dates down for those people this week. Good stuff.

This week I was thinking about my personal conversion and how I want the mission to shape me into being the man that I want to become. I was reading and studying a lot about Captain Moroni the other day, and wow he is quite the dude. In Alma 48 it says, "Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yeah, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." I think that is just so awesome. Anyway, hope you all have a great week. Nos vemos!
