Week 76 - Busy Busy
Hello everybody!! Sorry for not being very diligent in my letters these
past couple of weeks, we have just been very very busy lately. We have
been working super hard and we are seeing a lot of miracles out here.
These
past few weeks we have been teaching a young man of 20 years whose name
is Daniel. His entire family goes to a Baptist church, but after
attending a ward activity with some cousins he was curious about
Christ's visit to the Americas found in the Book of Mormon. We have been
teaching him ever since and he has been truly prepared by the Lord to
receive the Gospel. He completed with every invitation and has felt that
everything is true. On Friday night, it was time for his baptismal
interview. He was unsure about being baptized because we'd only been
teaching him for about 2 weeks. The missionary doing the interview
(shout-out to Elder Moulton) helped him through a few doubts he had and
after finishing up, he joined us back in the room along with his family.
With tears streaming down his face he shared with us his testimony. "It
has been a few weeks and I know that we have always gone to the other
church but I feel that God is calling me, and I know the things that
these missionaries teach are true. I know that Christ came and visited
on this continent. And so on the 25th of January, I am going to be
baptized." The Spirit filled the room and everyone was silent. His
family, although of a different religion, told him they were going to
support him. What a blessing it was to be part of that special moment. I
gave him the biggest hug and told him it was the best decision he was
ever going to make. This Saturday Daniel is going to be baptized and in a
few months we are gonna get his family there too :)
A lot of other things happened this week too, but I will save those for later. Have a wonderful week everyone! Nos vemos!
