Week 20 - Feliz Navidad!

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! This week was full of emotions haha. First, I got to Skype back home! I got to talk to my grandpa and grandma, mom and dad and the rest of the fam, and Taylor Tillotson as well haha! It was super good to see everyone and wow, that was one of the fastest hours of my life. Can't wait until Mother's Day! But yeah, Elder Camilo and I are getting along well, and we are working hard every day so that we can hit our monthly goals. Not much to say this week but I'll share a few quick things.

Tuesday we had our mission Christmas celebration thing where all of the missionaries in my half of the mission got together. We had a Christmas program skit thing, can't remember the word in English... and then after we got to play sports. It was actually so nice just to be able to play baseball, soccer, and football like I did back home. I could've played basketball but I honestly hate playin without a net; it drives me nuts so oh well. Then on the drive home, Elder Caldwell and I got to hang out a bunch which was nice.

On Saturday we had our investigator, Napoleon, in the church, with his baptismal clothes ready, 2 other missionaries with us, font filled, members seated to support, everything totally dialed in. He believes everything, and he knows this is the true church. But he is scared to be baptized, and even with all that prepared, he backed out. It is just frustrating when you do literally everything you possibly can for him, and yet it feels like it is all for nothing. I was pretty bummed at the time and didn't wanna work para nada, but my comp just told me, welcome to the mission. Then we got back up and kept going -- fishing for other souls. Everything is better now and everyone has their agency to choose the Gospel, and hopefully they are able to accept it later in life. But man, it just tears your heart out sometimes.

Anyway, today is Christmas Eve and tomorrow is Christmas and although it doesn't feel like the holiday season for me, I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas. These next few days take the chance to remember the Lord, His birth, and His life and the incredible sacrifice He made for us. Then try to live and be more like Him, to the "Light the World" and "Give as He Gave". And of course, enjoy all the time you have together as a family to celebrate one of the best days of the year. Have a very Merry Christmas! Nos vemos!
