Week 24 - The True Church!
Buenos dias everyone! Today and tomorrow are the last two days before changes and I still don't know if I'm staying or going. But this week was full of awesome experiences. Here are a few!
One of our investigators, his name is Alex, has been waiting to be baptized since I arrived here in the mission. He had to wait for a letter from the Seventy to confirm that he can be baptized, due to a few sins in the past. He has fully repented, and we have seen an incredible change in his life. He has been waiting almost 6 months for the letter, but I heard that sometimes it even takes up to a year. The past two weeks my companion and I decided to have extra faith and pray hard to receive the letter before changes. We had been praying super super hard for 2 weeks when literally a miracle happened. We were in a lesson when we got a call from Presidente Duran. He got the letter and told us the baptism will be Tuesday at 10... one day before the changes. It all happened so fast and me and my comp were just in shock, it was incredible. Alex requested that my old comp, Elder Ortega, does the baptizing so I will be able to see him to tomorrow as well!! So awesome. It's true that miracles happen after the trial of our faith as it says in Ether 12.
This past week our schedule changed due to the elections here in El Salvador. It's getting a little more dangerous with the police and stuff so we now have to be in our house at 7 pm. It's actually super nice because we get a ton of extra time to study and stuff. Also, Elder Camilo and I got up early and played basketball almost everyday. It was nice to play a little bit. We played some 1v1 too. It was an honor to be the first companion of his that has beat him haha ;)
Elder Camilo and I were talking and he told me he has never seen as many miracles in one change in all of his mission. It has been amazing to see the Lord's hand in the work. When we are working hard and we have faith, we see miracles. Tons of them. It is so clear to me that there is no other church on earth that has the fullness of the Gospel. This is the same church that Jesus Christ established when he was here. The same organization, doctrine, ordinances, all of it. There might be other churches that have bits and pieces of truth, but none of them have the exact blueprint of Christ's church. Have an amazing week everyone. Nos vemos!
