Week 27 - News!

Buenos dias a todos! This week was good and bad, but mostly good haha.

To start off, the bad thing is we only got 3 real days to work... but that is because we got to go to San Salvador and hear from an Apostle of the Lord, Elder Christofferson! We left here on Friday morning and stayed all day in San Salvador and slept over with some other Elders. We got up super early and headed to the temple, where the meeting was held. I got to meet up with a bunch of the Elders from the MTC that are now in the other mission and that was way cool. We all got to shake Elder Christofferson's hand, and we had the chance for about an hour to ask literally whatever queston we wanted to him, super awesome. He spoke 100% in Spanish, and he speaks really well. It was a great meeting, and we learned a bunch more about how to be better and more powerful missionaries.

For the little time that we had to work this week, we still had some great experiences. We were visiting Arely and her family the other day (new investigators) and we were talking about the Book of Mormon and invitation that we extended to her a week before. To my surprise she had already read over half of the book, and had a bunch of questions for us to answer. I was in shock! But we answered all of her questions and cleared up her doubts. Then her and her family came to church yesterday for the second time, and loved it. All Arely has to do is pray about the truthfulness of the book, and we already know that Heavenly Father will answer if she asks. Gonna put that baptismal date for the end of this month!

Last story: We currently have an investigator, whose name is Felipe. He has about 45 years, and he honestly is on a different level than the rest of our investigators. I almost consider him a member now. In December, he was completely lost. Drinking, out of work, a rough situation. He wanted to change his life, and asked God for a sign. Lo and behold, the missionaries happened to be passing right in front of his house that day. To make a long story short, in 2 months he completely stopped drinking, consistently attends church with two of his girlfriend's kids (Alex-11, and Irvin-8), and KNOWS that the Book of Mormon is true. In his free time, he shares his knowledge of the book with his other friends and family. He completely changed his life. I literally could see him as a bishop or another leader of the church in the near future, poderoso! Our only problem is his girlfriend doesn't want to get married and won't give permission to let the two kids be baptized. And unfortunately, Felipe has no say in it because they aren't his kids and currently he has no tie to them. It is a complicated situation, but I am 100% certain that these three are ready to be members of the church, and future missionaries. We are praying for Felipe, Alex, and Irvin, and also that the Lord can soften his girlfriend's heart so that she too can accept the Gospel.

Hope you all have a great week and a great Valentine's Day :) Nos vemos!
