Week 41 - Magdo
I had another fantastic week here in the area, and the time continues to fly. May is over halfway gone and it's so crazy to think about that. My letters have been a bit sloppy because it honestly is getting difficult to think and write in English so forgive me. But anyway, here are some of things that went down this week:
First, we got to go to the temple because we hit the goal for baptisms last month! It was the second time that I had gone in and wow I had another incredible experience. I never thought I'd look forward to going to the temple so much but it's the best. It was so nice to just relax and enjoy the Spirit in the temple. Also, this week my comp and I have been traveling a ton and so I have gotten super tired. Just the other day we had to take 3 buses, each an hour long ride, and I fell asleep the whole time in each one. Luckily, my comp was nice enough to let me catch up on the rest I lacked. In the mornings, I have been super diligent with my exercise which helps me have more energy during the day. With the new bands my family sent me, I get up every day and put in a little bit of work there haha.
For those that haven't read about Magdaleno yet, we have been teaching him for only three weeks, he always keeps his word, wanted to be baptized, and well, he is one of those people that uses pretty vulgar vocabulary but its hilarious. Just two days ago, he got baptized. It was a great day! He arrived at the church an hour early as we were setting up. He can't read or write but he has a fantastic memory and is already singing hymns with us after three weeks. He was extra excited as you can see in the photo and he was super happy afterwards too. He said he is never gonna miss a Sunday, and even though he has 83 years, he gets up every Sunday and walks to church! It's gonna be a sad day when I have to say goodbye to this guy. He is an example to me in many ways, and will soon be able to go into the temple and have great experiences there. Although his vocab is a bit rough right now, haha. We are gonna work on that little by little and he's gonna be another powerful priesthood holder here in the ward.
Have a great week everyone! Love and miss you all. The Church is true! Nos vemos!
