Week 43 - Surprises for the Gringos

This week has been of the craziest and funnest weeks of my mission! First off, I got my first gringo companion! I was so pumped! His name is Elder Lunt from Utah and he lives in Saratoga Springs. He already has almost 21 months in the mission so I think we will be comps for these last two changes he has. I had already met him earlier in the mission and so I have really been enjoying it so far.

But I also think he brought bad luck, because we have been off to a rough start. A few days ago, at around 3 am I woke up to serious shaking in our room. We were totally surprised and there was a pretty strong earthquake that came through. It was a 6.6 and we spent the next hour calling the other areas in the zone making sure everybody was alright. Nothing happened and all is well! About two days later, a few guys arrived and told us we hadn't paid our bill for the electricity. And here in El Salvador they literally cut your line if you haven't paid the bill. We were super confused but it turns out that the secretaries forgot to pay... so we are still stuck without fan, lights, iron, fridge, nothin. But we are laughing our way through it and having a good time. We are excited for this change and we know we are going to see miracles.

We arrived at church yesterday and a family of 8 that we had never met showed up. Only two of them have been baptized and right there we saw our first miracle. We are striving hard to be obedient, organized, and diligent, and we are seeing fruits already. We are gonna keeping working hard because we know the Lord is helping us in the work as well. Loving it all right now! The Church is true! Have a good week everyone... Nos vemos!
