Week 68 - Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!! It has been a wonderful week and half out here and a lot of things have happened since the last time I wrote home. Here are some updates:

First off, we had a multi zone meeting where I got to see a couple of good buds, Elder Greer, Elder Collins and a few others. Us three are zone leaders in other parts of the mission but we are trying to plan an activity with all of our zones together because it would be awesome.

Anyway, this weekend Hermana Berta got baptized. It was so great! We arrived bright and early to the church on Sunday morning because we had to start boiling water to heat up the font. We didn't heat it up much but it was warm enough I guess haha. Her entire family arrived and I could tell she had a special spiritual experience. This family is con todo right now and in one year I am sure they will be in the temple getting sealed. I hope to be there! After church, the family invited us over to eat lunch and we accepted. When we arrived I realized we made a crucial mistake. She made us what they call here, "sopa de pata". The meats that go in the soup are the following: cow nerves, hooves, stomach lining, stomach, basically the insides of the cow. I couldn't do it. Every bite I took of the cow stomach I had to down an entire glass of juice and restart again. Finally the sister had mercy on me and retired my bowl from the table, the cow nerves weren't too bad though... ;)

Anyway, right now is my favorite time of year and I have so many things to be grateful for. First off I am grateful the Gospel, my family and friends, for the things I have learned on the mission, and so many more things. I am now more thankful for hot showers, air conditioning, carpet, grass, snow, wifi haha. I am thankful for technology, music, and sports. I am thankful for the kind people here in El Salvador, for the scriptures that give us perfect guidance that we need in our lives, I am thankful for prophets and apostles, and for Christ's restored church here on earth. We are so blessed! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! Love and miss you all! Nos vemos!
