Week 8 - Baptisms!

This week was a solid week in the field. It is getting easier everyday and I can finally understand most of what people are saying. In our area we work in 2 spots, Jiquilisco and San Francisco, which is a super small town just 10 minutes north. We go to church in SF and this small branch only has 6 members. We are doing our best to grow it but wow the strength of these members is amazing. It also made me realize the church is the same everywhere you go.

This week we found more and more creatures in our apartment haha. In total, we have found spiders, cockroaches, big centipedes, lizards, frogs, rats, scorpions, bats, and more to come I'm sure. I wouldn't even be surprised at this point if I walked in the door and saw a jaguar or something. Holy cow. Also the food is super good. I'm still getting used to it but if you look at the picture I send it is the best. We have a lady that makes us lunch everyday for only $2. That plate in the picture is really worth like $12 or more in the US. ¡La comida es bien rica!

I was able to give 3 priesthood blessings this week in spanish which was pretty cool. And we finally got our first baptism dialed in! His name is Napóleon Sanchez. He is an older guy but is super awesome. We are baptizing him this Saturday in between sessions, and I believe his grandson is going to be doing the baptism. But im pretty excited. Overall, been a better week and hoping these next weeks continue to get better!

This weekend we have the opportunity to hear from the prophets and apostles. I have never been more excited and I encourage you all to tune in! These men are called of God, and we only get to hear from them 2 times a year, and what they say is truly revelation! Luckily, I get to watch in English too so we are good haha. Love you all. Have a great week.
