Week 30 - I'm Pregnant!

Big changes this week!! First, I got news this past week that I'm gonna have a child! Haha, so this next change I am going to be training a new guy, most likely another American but we will see! I was eating dinner the other night when I got a call from my zone leader and in his broken english he said "You're pregnant!"The next morning we headed to San Salvador at 4 am and there we had the meeting for all the missionaries that are gonna be training. I am pretty excited. Second, there are some pretty big changes in my area/district. Currently, we have 2 companionships in the ward here in Moncagua. This change President is going to split my area and add another companionship. I was told that I'm gonna be made district leader, and that too will be a cool opportunity.

Anyway, we had a more-or-less good week here in Moncagua. My companion and I hadn't been getting along very well - it wasn't anything bad, but it was clear that we were just waiting for the change to be over. But this week, I decided to show a little more love and it made a big difference. Just little things like making breakfast, ironing his shirts, or any other little thing. I immediately saw differences in our friendship as well as in our teaching style.

I also have some sad news. After battling and battling with Felipe's girlfriend and everything, we have decided to stop visiting them as frequently because she will not budge. She is just something else...It is the worst feeling in the world. It is honestly sad to see someone so hard hearted and unwilling to change. (2 Nephi 9:28,32) But one day she will realize, and then be responsible for their sins.

Despite these few things, we had a few awesome experiences. We were teaching a lesson the other day to a family that is super super positive. We had taught them once before, but without the dad there. This time he listened, and it was so crazy! We taught the Plan of Salvation, and you could see it in his eyes that he believed it all. He couldn't stop smiling and even the grandma noticed it. She said, Ï think he will like your church. I can see it in his little eyes!"Although he has work every day of the week, he said he is gonna ask for a day off on Sunday and bring his whole family. Then the other day, we were teaching the 12 year-old, Brian, who accepted a baptismal date and is reading the Book of Mormon. And I can't deny that there is some serious power in this book. We were reading in 2 Nephi 31, and after the first verse that Brian read he said he wanted to continue and read the next verse, and then the next verse, and the next, and the next. We nearly finished the chapter and he loved it all. It is so cool. We just need permission from his parents and then we are good to go for the 16th of March! The church is true!

Anyway, sorry for the long email but I hope you all have an amazing week. Miss and love you all! Nos vemos!
