Week 32 - Untitled
We had a fantastic week here in Moncagua! Anyway, here is the update:
This week we finally killed the rat that has been lurking around our house in the night time (see photo. We also had the opportunity to go do some service out in the middle of nowhere and move some giant rocks. It's tough work, especially when it is so stinking hot, but it was a good time. Check out those photos as well haha.
This week we had the baptisms of Alex and Irvin, as well as another investigator whose name is Gaby. I had the opportunity to baptize both Alex and Gaby, and then my comp baptized Irvin. It was an awesome experience. We organized everything super well and it all went smooooooooth. Everyone showed up, including Felipe's girlfriend and a ton of members to support. The baptismal service was super spiritual and nobody could stop smiling. They were all really excited and then they got baptized!I gave them CTR rings afterward to remember their special day and to always choose the right and Irvin said, "No voy a hacer las cosas malas."Haha :)
The next morning, on Sunday, we woke up and got ready to go to church. I left with the bishop to go bring some investigators to church up a little ways away in a place called Ël Rodeo."To my surprise, all the less-active families that we have been working with for MONTHS, finally decided to come back to Church. We got to the top of El Rodeo and we found two families waiting there. Everyone was super pumped and they got in the back of the pickup and we headed back down to snag some others. When we arrived at the other houses, everyone started shouting and saying, Öi vamos vamos!!"or other things like that. The others got in the back of the truck all hyped up and shouting, "Dale!"By the time we got to the bottom we had the back of the truck completely full of members and investigators, who were all so happy and excited to be back at church. It was one of the coolest experiences ever and an answer to our prayers. We have been working our tails off in Rodeo to bring the families back to church and receive all the blessings that await them. It was so good to see that our work wasn't in vain, and that the Lord was helping us bring these families back to church. When we arrived, the other members welcomed them back with open arms and everyone was just happy. It was awesome. This is the true church! Love you all nos vemos! And it turns out I can't send the photos sorryyyyyy.
