Week 48 - 11 Months

We have had a wonderful week this week! It has been super busy and we have been traveling like crazy but we enjoyed all of it. Here are some updates:

First of all, we were able to celebrate the 4th of July this week. We couldn't do much but we tried! We bought a pack of CapriSun, some M&Ms and some other American products for our travel to the capital on the 4th. We ate a nice lunch and then headed out. We had a good night and we repped the day with some cool American ties... although mine had blue stripes with the red and stars and the statue of liberty. I think that might be Cuba hahah or somebody messed up oh well!

About a month ago in our ward here, the pianist moved to another city. We had been singing for a few weeks without piano, but I decided to offer to play. I could only play a few and so I was a little worried but it has been so cool! With almost no practice time, it was tough to learn new hymns. But the Lord has helped and I have learned almost 20 hymns in total. The piano is honestly just a little thing that doesn't matter much but it makes the sacrament just a little more spiritual, the members enjoy it and so do I.

This week we have been teaching a lot of people, but right now we have been focusing a lot on a guy named Reinaldo. He has a tough drinking problem, and can only last about 4 days without drinking. He wants to stop but his friends are a bad influence. When we arrived on Tuesday, he was sober and had read a TON of the Book of Mormon! He understood everything too. Although he has this tough addiction to overcome, with the Lord's help and his desire we are gonna help him achieve it!

We also are going to have a baptism this upcoming week of a guy named, Marvin. He is a man that has a lot of illnesses and no longer walks due to an operation he had years ago for his diabetes. We have helped him get to church and he has received his answer from the Spirit that the Church has been restored. So awesome!

Good things to come! Have a good week everyone! Nos vemos!
