Week 51 - Cool Stuff
Buenos dias a todos! We have had another successful week here in Gavidia. We have continued to see miracles in the work and I am truly truly loving my mission.
On Friday, we had a phenomenal lesson with the Vasquez family. We taught the Plan of Salvation and hermano Oscar had a lot of questions. We taught the doctrine clearly and simply using scriptural evidence as well. He told us he believed what we were teaching. The missionaries have been working with him for 10 years off and on, and now he is finally realizing what the Gospel will do for him and his family.
On Sunday (yesterday), he arrived with his entire family to church again, and even invited a friend. We had 6 investigators arrive to church and all the members brought them. They made it easy for us! We are now seeing the fruits from working with the members. As part of our ward conference Sunday meetings, we also saw changes in the bishopric and other leadership positions. We are really excited, as well as the other members, and I think we are going to see major advances in the work here.
This upcoming Saturday we are going to have a baptism of a youth that we have been teaching. His name is Dodani and he is 16 years old. His main challenge was the law of chastity, as he had two girlfriends who he visited frequently... But he has had the desire to change and start a new life by following Christ. He is super shy, but with us he has warmed up and we are super tight buds. I am way happy for him and I will make sure to send pics next Monday! The Church is true true true!!! Nos vemos!
