Week 57 - 13 Months in El Salvador

Another solid week out here in San Miguel. I am pretty happy with the way this week went. As a zone, we are really trying to meet our goals this month so we have been working extra hard.

This week I got to go on interchanges with AP Elder Nunez. We have been friends since the beginning of the mission and so it was a fun time to work with him. We visited a lot of people and he gave me a lot of good advice. We had one lesson where the lady at first really didn't want to hear our message, but we insisted. As we taught, we were tried to find her needs and she opened up to us. She realized how much the Gospel could bless her family and told us all about the struggles she is having. Excited to see where this leads!

Last week we were passing through a neighborhood to visit an investigator but when we arrived, she wasn't at home. We were thinking about where we could go when I had the feeling to straight up the street to the dead end. Listening to the prompting, my comp and I headed north. We asked a few people outside if there were people who were attending church with us years back. We arrived at the very very end of the street and right there we found a house. In the house lives a family of 8, half of which are not members yet. We had no idea, but God led us to them. We got to know them and invited them to Church again. They were excited to go, and they went. It was so easy haha! We have plans to baptize one of the daughters on the 28th!

This past week here in El Salvador I have been thinking a lot about a few people we found in the streets. It is common here for the people to try to go to the US and get away from the situation here. There are a few that seem so sad. They say that they just wish they could get their Visa and go to the US. They think it is their only way to be happy and have a good life, but its not true. I know that what they really need is the Gospel because it is the only way to be truly happy! There is nothing else that can give the lasting happiness that the Gospel brings (Mos. 2:41). Have a great week everyone. Miss and love you all! Nos vemos!
