Week 37 - La Union!
So this has been an absolutely incredible week! I hope you all had a great Easter weekend! Anyway, here are some updates:
As usual on Monday nights before changes, all of us in Moncagua were sitting around anxiously waiting for the call from the zone leaders. As we were talking about all the rumors that were spreading throughout the mission about the changes, we finally got the call. I was informed that I have changes. I couldn't believe it! I thought he was messing with me but it was legit. I packed up my bags, and the next day said goodbye to all the great people and great memories in Moncagua. On Wednesday, I headed to the terminal in San Miguel and found out that I wasn't going very far. They told me I was headed to La Union, about 30 minutes from San Miguel... and the hottest area in the mission haha! I also met my new comp, Elder Ramirez!!! He is such a dope guy! We currently are the zone leaders of the zone "La Union" and it has been a blast. It is kind of crazy because we travel a ton, and always are helping the other missionaries in the zone, but it is super cool. I have been learning a ton with him and we are going to have two baptisms this upcoming weekend. As a zone, we have a goal of 10 baptisms this weekend and so we have been all over the place doing the interviews and everything as well. But I love it!
The people here in La Union are extremely different than those in Moncagua and other parts. They accept the Gospel almost immediately and really try to complete the invitations that we leave with them. It is because there aren't as many churches and pastors to fill their minds with false doctrines of men and ridiculous interprations of the Bible. They are more susceptible to the feelings that come from the Spirit testifying of our message. We invite them to be baptized and they say yes with a smile on their face. As they actually "do", there is always a change that we can see in them. It is awesome.
